"Plant based artisanal ice cream"

Dae is a plant based artisanal ice cream brand making ice cream for everyone. Specialising in premium ice cream sandwiches stocked across the country. We also have our own scoop shop located in St. Stephen’s Green shopping centre, in the heart of Dublin City. Founded in April 2021 by chef Conor Sweeny - originally called Leamhain; after the infamous river which flows through Conor’s grandparents home town of Killorglin, Co.Kerry. The river represents friends, family and communities coming together to share experiences. Leamhain started as a covid project when Conor lost his job working as a chef in a fine dining restaurant in London. Conor moved back to Ireland, settling in Killorglin and while watching Tiger King eating a tub of ice cream he felt he could do better.

Conor spent over a year researching and creating his own plant based, free from ice cream recipe. After taking part in the business accelerator course "Foodworks" (backed by Bord Bia, Enterprise Ireland & Teagasc), Leamhain rebranded to Dae ice cream. Dae acts as a metaphor for what Leamhain’s ethos represents. Sunday is the day of the week friends, family and loved ones come together to enjoy moments and to share childhood nostalgia of ice cream sunDAE’s. Dae was born. We source ethical ingredients from farms across the world from Papa New Guinea vanilla to Achill Island sea salt. All our packing is recyclable or compostable and we take a huge amount of pride in operating a zero waste kitchen. Any leftover ingredients are used as sauces and mix ins for our scoop shop. We are the only free form ice cream shop in Ireland producing delicious plant based ice cream for everyone.
